Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin Are Restoring Dishonor to America
Posted by admin on August 31st, 2010Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are constantly talking about restoring our Constitution. They want to get our Constitution back. I did not know that it had gone away. They have created this aura that since Barack Obama was inaugurated somehow our Forefathers have been affronted. Aside from the crazies who claim that President Obama was born in Kenya and is not a citizen, and therefore sits in the presidency in violation of the Constitution, I am at a loss to know what it is they are talking about. Other than the health care legislation, which faces a legitimate challenge on the basis that it requires all citizens to buy insurance and does not come within the power of Congress to tax, I know of no other claim, no less a legitimate one, that the current administration has violated the Constitution.
What I find remarkable is the suggestion that the President’s agenda (whether successful or not) of caring for the poor, the sick, the elderly, the uneducated and the unemployed has somehow dishonored the country and poses a danger to it. Apparently in the eyes of Glenn Beck these “socialistic” goals are un-Christian and are to be feared. I do not pretend to be an expert on the Bible, but I thought those precepts were the very foundation of Christianity. Do they become less so because they are provided by the government?
There will be strong disagreement over the size of the crowd which attended the Beck rally and who or what brought them there. Without impugning those who attended, the greater the size of the crowd; the greater should be our fear——not the phony one he has created. They have been convinced that there is a danger out there that does not exist. If our honor was lost, it was through the invasion of Iraq, wire tapping of American citizens, the torture and rendition of suspected terrorists, imprisoning persons for years without charges or hearings, allowing greed to prevail over regulation and our woeful response to Hurricane Katrina. If those were the good old days for which Mr. Beck and Ms. Palin yearn, then he is right, we all should start praying.

I agree with the above post. ‘Restoring Honor’ for/from what?! (Oh, yeah: a black man in the White House.) Beck and the hate mongering he spews – along with most of the other Fox ‘news’ hosts – are dangerous… even seditious. It’s hard for me to believe ‘reasonable’ citizens take them seriously. His sarcastic TV persona is incredibly obnoxious… and intolerable.
Seems to me that Beck has more followers than Obama these days, Obama Adm. has to hire people to cheer for Obama, $8.00 an hour, they get to holler for Obama, then at the end of the day they go home and watch Fox!
I agree with the post. Glen Beck and Sarah Palin are both idiots. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans believe their brand of crap. That makes them idiots too.
Umm…let’s see… Pretty much all of the major actions taken by the government today have been illegal. Obamacare-illegal. Bailouts-illegal. Auto industry takeover- illegal. Cap and trade- illegal.
What ever happened to journalist integrity?
CurtisHx, it’s up to the SCOTUS to decide what is legal, not you or Fox “News.” What ever happened to basic understanding of civics?
Oh, right: Glenn Beck.
I’m so tired of hearing that people who disagree with the current administration are either racist, or crazy, or both. I don’t like the direction our country is going, nor do I agree with several legislative decisions our current representatives have ramroded through Congress in the past two years. This does not make me paranoid, greedy, illiterate, radical, bigoted, nor any other of the attributes Obamamites would have you believe. I am not rich – I am working middle-class like millions of other Americans out there. I don’t mind paying my fair share, I don’t mind helping a brother out in time of need. I do STRONGLY oppose giving hand-outs to those too lazy or unmotivated to get off their duffs and try to help themselves a little bit as well. I STRONGLY oppose paying taxes to support a mass of illegal immigrants who I feel are not entitled to a welfare check or health benefits when they’ve paid no taxes to deserve them. This does not make me a bad person. I happen to think free enterprise and the “American dream” is what makes this country great… the possibility that with hard work & drive ANY person has the potential to achieve a good life. I don’t think that happens for ANYBODY with handouts. I am uninspired to go to work thinking that an increasing portion of my paycheck is being funneled to a massive bureaucracy that gets to decide who gets my money. I am furious to think that cap and trade is going to spike energy costs so high that I can’t afford my electric bill, and the goods I buy will go up because the cost of manufacturing is rising exponentially. I am especially furious knowing that these efforts are meaningless when other countries do not follow suit. I am tired of hearing how billions of dollars in stimulus money is working to restore the economy, when we all know that no real jobs are being created. Deficit spending is sky-rocketing, and the only solution Washington can come up with is to tax more. I want representatives who stand up and say, NO! What we need to do is spend less… there is so much wasteful spending, it has got to stop. I guess if that makes me radical, crazy, racist, etc… so be it. See you at the polls in November!
wasteful spending? On two foriegn wars and our so-called national defense!!! Healthcare is a right granted by the constitution, to “promote general Welfare”. How is letting people die from lack of healthcare promoting general welfare? Is is the job of the governemnt, as dictated in the Constitution, to oversee the welfare of it’s citizendry. To NOT have universal health coverage is un-constitional.
CurtisHX, you’re a fucking idiot. Go to school. Read a book. Do something.
