I think you’re wrong, Glenn Beck is a genius

Glenn Beck Is An IdiotI think you’re wrong – Glenn Beck is a genius. He has found a way to make stupidity pay, and pay big. Glenn Beck is not an idiot, but he is rich because of idiots. Millions of prize American morons. Short-sighted fools that can barely make ends meet, but have $25 to buy his book. Illiterate non-thinkers with nothing better to do than watch or listen to him in the media and soak up all that expensive advertising, which pays huge dividends to that bombastic shepherd of simpletons.

Beck knows what it takes to capture and retain the attention of America and the dollars of America’s dupes: sensationalism. He speaks whatever will generate attention, controversy, reaction and strife. It doesn’t matter if “you love him or you hate him”, he gets people riled up, they talk about him, pretty soon he’s a household name.

What an enigma, he’s a genius, yet everything that comes out of his mouth is inane drivel. How can we deal with this Sultan of Stupidity? How would we we respond to the inane drivel of a young child? How to respond to the tantrum of a coddled youth? Ignore him. Don’t react. Most, if not all, of what he says is not even worthy of a response. But, we keep feeding him exactly what he wants: an argument, an emotional reaction, a response, attention. He knows he spews nothing but tripe, but our response validates the method of his success: “it’s not what you say, but how much attention you can generate by saying it.”

Stop calling Glenn Beck an idiot. We are the idiots for giving him our attention, for giving him credibility by letting ourselves be goaded into an argument with him, by making him famous and paving the way for him to become undeservedly rich. Never address the nonsense that is continually discharging from that crevasse of a mouth, nothing he says is worth discussing. Rather, address who and what he is. Expose him as a cunning opportunist taking advantage of America’s fears, naiveties and ignorances for his own personal gain. Expose him as a selfish parasite caring nothing for this country or its people beyond what he can leach out of our pocketbooks. When the attention and emotional reactions dry up, so will the advertising dollars and so will Beck.

Maybe one day he will even be forced to earn an honest living like the rest of us.
